hi all

here is a bit of a weird problem....yesterday i changed over my fusebox as i has some problems with the terminals on it

i did change it for a secondhand one but it was in perfectly serviceable condition....it was all working fine untill last night...i hit a speed bump at no more than 10mph when my tail lights went out along with my dash lights??? now i pulled over and as i put my foot on the brake they came back on with dash lights and all?

it was dark so i parked the car up on my drive and cycled to work today and come home to look at in and without any ignition on the battery warning light was on with the car having a flat battey at the same time....what would cause this?

i did disconnect my stereo and did not connect this back up again as the headunit has broke....just seems weird and i really want to get this sorted

cheers guys

paul

ps: any input atall will be great even if it may not be the resolving problem i just need another pair of eyes on this

bucks

the contacts on the fuses or just a bad connection somewhere? i know these are obvious but it could be something that simple!

Ive had this a few times, just wiggle the wires on the fuse board, and the fuses them selves should show the problem, usealy one of the female spades needs tightening with pliers, or crimp a new one on.

The pronlem is that it's not just the fuse boxes that slowy disolve, the fuse ends and all the crimp connectors also end up covered in corrosion and shit.

Plus if you strip back the wires they'll most likely be black rather than copper coloured.

As above, a quick wiggle is the best you can do in the short term. But new crimp connectors may be a good idea.

I had a similar problem:

The dash and tail lights are connected through one of the "independent" fuses that aren't in the black box. Found to the right, behind the carb.

Mine came undone from going over a bump and caused the fuse to fall out.
