It seems that regardless of what ignition timing I set in the spark tables it doesn't change the timing sent to the coil packs. The table in megasquirt updates though. For example when at idle I can set the advance at any value from 0 to 30 degrees and there is no change. I burn the new values to the ecu but to no effect. Anyone heard of this? FYI I'm running the coil pack straight off the megasquirt drivers

I have just had a similar issue with someone else's MS, I could put the processor in mine and it would take the command, and my processor had the same issue in his board so it definatly pointed to the board.

After a bit of head scratching, In the end I gave the board a good blast with solvent and dried it off with a gentle blast from a compressor (30psi), that cured it,

I think it must have been the flux altering the capacitance enough to corrupt the data.

Tried the above but no luck. Seems to be more in the software.

The spark advance gauge on the tunerstudio dash shows the amount of advance it's using.

The gauge shows different values to those in my spark table. it seems the ecu has a different spark table it is using than the one i modify. (im not using two tables though)

any ideas? I'm going to ask on the squirt forum too.

nah don't think it's double just seems to be an older map i had loaded. I have no strobe.

but like i say changing the values doesn't effect the state of the engine. it'll idle the same no matter what i set the table values as.

the MSQ you uploaded seems to max out at atmospheric, so once its on boost only the top line will affect the advance,

I spotted your post on the MS forum,

what code version are you using? Extra 2.1.0?

bollocks....

problem solved, it was set to Alpha-N (TPS) instead of speed density (MAP).

Not sure how that happened. I'm pretty sure it used to be speed density.

All working now. Not sure why your tunerstudio doesn't like my msq tho. And am still a bit worried about the map you saw with the limit at atmospheric.

LOL Oh well! easily done.

I must be trying to load under a different code version to what your running, and its defaulting to the std timing map.
