I have read through a few previous threads below but cannot make my mind up.

A rolling shell I just bought comes with new minispares alloy rear beam and gaz coilovers (on the back only),

The car is a going to be a “fast road car”, has a few bits like the rear bins cut out to lighten and interior is stripped, not bothered about comfort as long as it drives well. I am inclined to try the coilover because its all built up, but peoples opinion seem to vary alot.

Is there any trick to setting these up, or do people still think stick with the subframe for a road car.

I have protech rear shocks, 125lb springs and a home made rear beam and the handling is fantastic. The car feels better balanced then it did with a heavy old subframe.

Hope this helps.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Totally down to you mate, what works for one doesn't work for another.

Only downside to a beam is if you have a dtm you have to find another way to mount it.

I'm sure its the same for any exhaust as they all hang from the subframe

Yes but with my DTM if I were to get a rear beam I'm have to hang it and then bolt it to the boot floor
