The problem with knock sensors is that you have to calibrate them. They'll look for a particular frequency to be excited. Trouble is you're not going to know what that is without some tests and obviously it is a bit tricky with highly boosted engines to get near to the problem conditions without doing damage. |

Aftermarket programable ECU's, except perhaps the high end systems, are not clever enough to run active ignition systems. Knock detection in this instance is more of a safety factor, and the engine should be tuned to avoid knock in every situation you will encounter with only knock action taking over when there is an abnormality.
