When fitting the N/A MG Metro Cam for a turbo application what timing have people used?

108 seems to work for us on the van. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

I've installed three or four MG Metro cams and have always had to advance them at least 5 degrees from the dot to dot to get 108. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

Van has a 5 degree key in i believe V If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

I think 108 is the best for a turbo engine. Chain stretch should only loose you 2-3 degrees On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

The dots are good enough for either a starting point, or standard engines for your granny. You always need to check and correct to get the best out of the engine.

the advice is that you should check it and if required correct it with an off set key..
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I would measure, then fit the correct camshaft key, but I must admit, if choosing from dot to dot or a 5 degree key, I'd go with the key.

Mine is in at 107. Figured it Will delay a bit once chain streches. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
