Just seen one of these driving about town. It was a lovely white one with the green and white Puch badge on the side. Looked fantastic.

Wish i'd been quicker and got a photo.

I want one!

It is the same company that made the bikes. It has a bike engine in the boot.

Whilst out fixing the head gasket on the mini the chap who owns the Puch I saw a few weeks back parked up by me. Turns out he lives two doors down. He parks the car elsewhere. He took me out for a ride. Lovely little car.

Its got a twin flat 880 cc engine in the boot. Producing 65 bhp. Apparently one of only 3 in the UK

These have been around for a very long time.

In the 70,s they won their class in the European Rally Championship and there used to be a team of three competing in
saloon car racing.I remember seeing them at Thruxton when they did the entire race nose to tail looking like an automotive snake as the went round, all with the engine lid propped open just like some of you do with your minis

Put very simply they were a re -engined Fiat 500 of the time, but that is being unkind to the people who made them as there was a lot more to it than that.

I also remember them being described as a Steyr-Daimler-Puch.
