not sure but depnding on how often you use the car, it could be due to condensation as well; I'd do a compression test. Are you using water?

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

if the car is not using water this is a classic DUCKHAMS Q oil problem,

this oil is not suited to the A series engine

also as the guys say above

not losing water, car only does about 12 miles 5-6 days a week, i'm using the halfords classic car oil probably not the best, as for breathers have one on the timing case and one on the clutch cover

If this is a turbocharged engine, steer clear of halfords. It's not really up to the job. I use it in my n/a 1275 and its fine though.
If i recall correctly, most people recommend millers, but it isn't cheap. Someone will probably confirm this hopefully lol.

Millers CTV or if budgets are tight we use Comma Sonic in the upside down skip.

I use the Halfords semi-synthetic 15w40, been using it for years, I do 10k a year in my turbo 998, never had a problem. Halfords oil is fine as long as you buy the decent stuff.

I use the CTV in racer, but it's just too pricy for a daily.

I used Valvoline VR1 20/50 in the meccy. Never run it long enough to give an honest opinion though.

doesn't matter what oil you put in it, 60miles a week is still the problem.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

As Sprocket says but that Halfords stuff always gave me mayo in the rocker cover. Even when i was doing 60 miles a day.

if you ar just using the car for short trips this is compounding the problem, with the oil.

up the thermostat to a 88c one for winter and flush the engine and change the filter and us a better oil like the chaps above says
