I've been getting a lot of oversteer on the turbo mini again.
After some investigation the oversteer has been caused by the nut coming loose on the end of the radius arm and then the shaft play has worn the hole in the subframe causing more play and the arm would swing about when cornering. So i sleeved the subframe to fix that but on reassembly I discovered what i think is the main cause of all this... The shaft the radius arm pivots on is about 1.9mm too long and so the radius arm slides transversely along it.

The photos below compare the one on my car to an old one I had lying around.

Tomorrow I will turn down the extra length but just wanted to check if anyone has had this before or if i'm being dense and have missed something obvious?

leeds/wakefield.

you really need to fit the pin to the arm it is going to be used in and then check the endfloat, 0.005- 0.010 won't cause any problems,

yeah, so that was how i found the problem, the end float was about 1.9mm. Just thought it easy to illustrate with the pins compared.
So you think about 0.2 mm should be good. The worn shaft gives about that so I was going to make it that long. Just confused about how the shaft could be that far out!
