On the way home today in the turbo I heard a pop and then lost power and developed a whining noise.

perhaps i still have a boost leak? It sounds a lot like an air horn? |

Simon had a whine like the vid at Avon, turned out to be the plenum>carb gasket, worth s check. Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs

That's whatine sounded like when the bolts holding the exhaust housing worked loose and munched the turbine.

ah, so it's either really easy simple problem of hose loosening or a fooked compressor or turbine wheel.
