That can't be right surely? No restrictor ring or anything? Low boosting for now. |

as long as the fuel pressure regulator and float bowl are correctly pressurised above manifold pressure there should not be not problem, i would assume the needle would need to be a fair amount different to standard Yes i moved to the darkside |

Yes, but the fuel pressure regulator has no bearing on the pressure of the float bowl. yes i understand that but the float bowl needs to be atleast the same pressure as the boost, you can run perfectly fine with no restrictor but the needle needs to be sooo thin by the time your pushing 10psi boost you cant fuel any more. That 1-2 psi drop from plenum to carb that restrictor creates is not worth the hassle removing it would create eg my needle for my non restrictor plenum ( i could only fuel for 10psi @12afr) causes a complete rich cut out at 20psi boost on a normal restricted plenum it was so rich by 20psi boost it wouldnt pull beyond it and il talking 3-3.5krpm there are other ways to replicate the restrictor that have been discussed on here i feel in some detail eg the pilot tube and you can use the pressure drop across the whole intake side (intercooler and piping creates enough drop in pressure to upset my boost controller) Edited by Brett on 16th Oct, 2012. Yes i moved to the darkside |

yes i agree, now i have looked closer at it, it doesnt have the holes to pressurise underneath the main piston either, the holes on the dodgy flange look to be in the wrong place

Yes you are correct about the restrictor. If you retain the plenum your float bowl will at least see boost pressure. but the thing linked to had no means of even pressurising the float bowl and as such will not run any boost. On 16th Oct, 2012 Brett said: On 16th Oct, 2012 wil_h said:
