3D printing certainly interests me, will be buying one when they come down in price. I can see it being very useful for external engine components like plendinudums and brackets etc etc.

Actually, from what Ive read it is possible to 3d print a head that would survive the temps,

they print some compound that can absorb metal during a firing process, supposed to be good for about 1000 deg C

trouble is its fairly brittle, so would probably crack
