is this the best oil for a n/a mini ?
did the search and seems most of you guys run this in the turbo's been on halfords classic but read some bad press on hear about it.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

The normal mineral is fine for n/a half the price too.

Ctv is semi synthetic, as your not suppose to use mineral with a turbo

13.95 1/4 mile on a 2.95 fd. Carnt be that hard to beat!

I was once young and nieve.

Munched a 296 in 2000 miles due to halfords oil. Engine has been fine on comma since then. But millers is the best

i used to use comma classic for years and the oil used to be green untill it changed to the usual gold...... then i had nothing but rocker mayo not long later that engine died ( maybe unrelated)
i used to do 3-5k miles per change but since changing to cvt i have done maybe 10k hard abuse miles and its still in there
the cvt is still clean so its payed for its self just by the length of time its been in there plus after reading up about oils, whats needed and whats not i genuinely believe its the best stuff for not only the engine but the box

purely imo, cheap mineral to run in because it doesnt protect moving parts that well, once there bedded in then CVT untill its rebuilt

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

I use Valvoline vr1 20/50 in my n/a engine.

The bloke who builds the engine says he wont use anything else in a mini race engine.

But doesn't a racer sacrifice wear fr less friction? Maybe looking for something else on a road engine. I found that vr1 went a bit thin when ht and dropped oil pressure where ctv didn't.

Yeah fair point Graham, perhaps not too great for mileage. I havent seen the oil pressure drop away with it though? Even in road engines.

Given all your above advice, I reckon I will be using the millers on the road.

Sorry for the slight hi-jack lee!
