hey guys , i was wondering can the mpi engine be turbo'd using a carb . i know there is no hole for the dizzy however i would be running mega jolt i was wondering if there are any other differences that wouldn't allow it to be turbo'd ( i don't really know much about the mpi engine )

I'm pretty sure Andy and a few others are using MPI blocks so see no reason in principle. Not sure about the pistons though

like you say, a problem would be running a dizzy, so megajolt solves that. The other thing to bear in mind is the turbo oil return. I'm running an MPi block but using injection so have the original cam sensor plugged in, therefore i've machined a hole in the gearbox for the return. If you're not using the cam sensor you can probably make a return to fit that.

yes my engine was built on an spi ( that one still has the dizzy hole and fuel pump hole *wink* )

the biggest problem ( especially if its in an mpi mini already) will be at the mot, the emissions will be way off at best

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Yep. I reckon the crank sensor hole is big enough to bore out and tap to take a suitable screw in fitting for the oil return. Then bar the oil filter and dizzy hole, the rest is the same.
