Hey all,

I've got a misfire problem around 5500rpm where the MS thinks revs have dropped off. I guess it's the VR conditioning pots that need adjusting but I'd appreciate some suggestions based on your experience as to how they should be adjusted (e.g. do i need more hysteresis, as I would just be guessing).

The composite log seems to show too many cam pulses and then the crank pulses merge into one block before dropping to zero. (see log 69).

all started in the thread below at msextra forums so please reply there.

Thanks

I haven't looked at the logs yet but, per your post on the MS-E forum, if data files are too large to post by their forum rules, just open them in MS Excel or Open Office calc (they will open in either despite their file suffixes) and cut out and save the relevant bit and swap the file suffix back.

The MS-E manuals have the suggested pot settings for the common types of sensors (ie, VR vs Hall) but, assuming you have the original Rover ones, they may not quite match the usual "GM" rules.

Do you have access to a scope ???

If you do, it's easy to adjust the pots (and see if the error is elsewhere).
