So i've got the mini up and running and i'm now trying to get it set up on a RR.

I have two in mind: Vmax scart and Slark race engineering.

I have read a few really good reviews on here about SRE. But it's a bit further and more expensive than Vmax for me.

I also know Stuart at Vmax is a respected chap in the mini world, i just haven't seen/ found any opinions on here of his tuning.

If someone could share some experience on both that would be great! It will be the first RR time for me, so i obviously want to pick the right one! :)

Cheers
Dan.

I have just used Slarks for the first time, its nearly 2 hours from me but because of the good reviews I though I would give them a call. I explained my engine was fully rebuilt and gave Neil at Slarks the spec, he was very helpful and I found them to be knowledgeable. I got the car delivered to them and collected again after they had finished , top service and Neil explained what he had done and what could be done to a have more power. I would highly recommend them. I used a different local place before and they basically buggered up my engine resulting in a rebuild , even told me my T3 turbo couldn't produce enough boost and I needed a bigger one !

Slarks are very very good with lots of experience in turbo minis .

Hope this helps

Thanks redrat. There are quite a few on here that have really good things to say about them. So might end up going to Neil.

About the same as Vmax Mark, but they're a lot more expensive.

Having spent a day at Slarks a while back (with AC Dodd as well) I'm looking forward to going back there next week for another day on the rollers testing ignitions.
They will definitely be the tuners of choice for me in the future.

Steve Harris set up the car originally and he did a superb job, but his antique rolling road can't produce corrected power figures at the flywheel or printouts of the actual curves for publication.

I have used this place before. Not sure how close it is to you. Very good road and operator.

Ive used Vmax, and he is shit hot with turbos.

I was running megajolt at the time and had to bring my own laptop with the megajolt software on it. I just input the timing settings that vmax told me.

I know Nic uses vmax too.

I had a chat with Nic and he has nothing but praise for Vmax. It would be better for me as it's closer and a bit cheaper.

I wouldn't mind doing the data input either.

i used vmax, cant fault him on my engine on the set up and good price too.

would use him again, he is a bit relaxed about his business though not in a bad way. But as long as you turn up and know your going to have to do something and not just stand there doing nothing, and if his mates pop down have a bit of banta your all good :)

I'd say that sums things up nicely Taz.

I've been with mine quite a few times and he's always been alright with me.

Bad experiences with Mech Repairs, involving the bloke effectively destroying an engine though ignorance & stupidity.
