front mount is best but the minispares super cool 2 core is easiest for fitments ( standard position) and offers excellent cooling
whats your engine specs?

btw i got a fiat cinc rad and header for 45quid, plus pipes, its got a well sized modern efficient core... bargain

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

They stay warm for ages after the heating has gone of.

The minispares 2 core is about as good as the sidemounts get, unless you look at some fancy alloy ones. Common sense says the 4 cores are better, but there is more to it than that. The 2 is what you want unless you go front mount. IMO you are better saving the space at the front for an intercooler.

Does it heat the space adequately?

It's difficult to say. There is another modern radiator in the hall, but the hall is open to the landing where there is another radiator. Add in 10ft ceilings and leaky old windows then your guess is as good as mine. The smaller one in the kitchen seems to heat it quite well and the long low one in one of the bedrooms is also pretty good.

I have to agree with Andy.

Those old style radiators are great. They may have a lower heat rating than modern rads, but they provide a much more consistant heat and you do not get the temperature swings associated with modern rads.

The one in the bedroom was a bonus - somebody had boarded it up under a cupboard. Nice and low, makes a good child seat (when it's cooled down).
